๐ Visa Information for Foreigners Visiting Thailand
โ๏ธ 1. Visa Exemption (Tourist/Short Visit)
- Citizens of many countries (e.g., most EU nations, USA, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and more) can enter Thailand without a visa for tourism purposes.
- ๐ Stay allowed: Up to 30โ45 days, depending on nationality.
- ๐ Passport with at least 6 months validity and proof of onward travel required.
- โ ๏ธ Visa exemption policies can change, so always check for updates close to your travel date.
๐ฌ 2. Visa on Arrival (VOA)
- Nationals of certain countries can apply for a Visa on Arrival at airports and border checkpoints in Thailand.
- ๐ Stay allowed: Up to 15 days.
- ๐ Required documents: valid passport, return/onward ticket, recent photo, completed application form, proof of accommodation.
- ๐ฐ Visa fee payable on arrival (approx. 2,000 THB, cash only).

- For longer stays (typically up to 60 days), apply for a tourist visa at a Thai embassy/consulate before you travel.

๐ 4. Non-Immigrant Visa (e.g., for Academic Conferences, Study, Research)
- For those attending conferences, workshops, academic visits, or short-term study/research, a Non-Immigrant Visa Type "ED" (Education) or "B" (Business) is recommended.

- ๐ง Invitation letter or conference registration confirmation from Chiang Mai University/organizer.

- Most travelers can now apply online for Thai e-Visas via Thai E-Visa Official Portal.
